Hoyoverse announced on Saturday that the next major content update for Genshin Impact will be released on July 13th. Version 2.8, dubbed “Summer Fantasia,” will reintroduce the Golden Apple Archipelago, a zone redesigned by Hoyoverse to add new plotlines and challenges for players to complete.
Finishing the included quests will grant you the opportunity to add Fischl, a four-star playable character, to your party for free.
Furthermore, as part of the game’s upcoming Resonating Visions event, you’ll be able to collect conch shells that you can later trade for a Fischl outfit. The shells will also reveal more information about the game’s plot.
Separately, the update includes new sailing challenges that you can complete with your friends, as well as a new playable character named Shikanoin Heizou.
According to the Hoyoverse, he was Genshin’s first melee catalyst user. Shikanoin can deal additional damage to enemies who are hit by elemental attacks.
Hoyoverse is currently working on several projects, including additional content for Genshin Impact. The studio recently announced the development of two new games, Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai: Star Rail. Although neither title has an official release date, you can sign up to beta test the former on PC and iOS.
