EA announced two years ago that it was working on a replacement for its Origin PC client, and the new app is now being rolled out to Windows users.

According to the publisher, the EA app, which has just completed its open beta phase, is the company’s fastest and lightest PC client to date.

EA promises a more streamlined design and claims easier navigation.

The app appears to have improved social features, as you’ll be able to connect your EA account to platforms such as Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation which could be useful for games with cross-play support, such as Apex Legends and FIFA 23.

You’ll have a unique EA ID that your friends should be able to recognize.

According to the publisher, it will soon invite Origin users to migrate to the new app. As you might expect, everything you own will be present, including your games, save data, and friends list.

It’s worth noting that the new client will initially be available only on Windows PCs. If you use macOS, you’ll keep using the Origin for Mac app for the foreseeable future. However, EA stated that it will have more information to share in the coming months.
