With Google shutting down Stadia, at least one of its exclusives is leaving. According to Eurogamer, Tequila Works will bring Stadia’s first exclusive, Gylt, to other platforms in 2023.

The Rime creator did not specify which systems would be featured, but it would not be surprising if consoles were included.

You play Sally, a tween who ventures into a dark alternate world to save her cousin in the third-person horror game. While hiding from (or illuminating) sludge monsters, you must complete quests and solve spatial puzzles.

While Gylt isn’t the most inventive title, we found it to be an excellent introduction to horror gaming for older children who may not be ready for something as intense as Dead Space.

As you might expect, this isn’t a spectacular development. Gylt isn’t Tequila Works’ only recent project (it’s also working on the League of Legends spinoff Song of Nunu), but when Stadia goes offline in January, it will effectively cease to exist.

A multiplatform launch could help Tequila rekindle interest in Gylt and maintain profitability after Google’s cloud gaming service is discontinued.

The question is whether other Stadia exclusives will follow suit. Splash Damage stated that it will “consider the options” for its competitive multiplayer title Outcasters, but other developers have remained silent.

While these cloud gaming projects were not must-play blockbusters, if they are not ported elsewhere, they will fade into obscurity.
