Days Gone may never have a proper sequel, but its post-apocalyptic story may find its way to the big screen. Sony’s PlayStation Productions unit is working on a film adaptation of the 2019 game, according to Deadline.

Sheldon Turner, the writer of Up in the Air and X-Men: First Class, is said to be writing a script for Outlander actor Sam Heughan. According to Deadline, Turner envisions the final film as a “love ballad to motorcycle movies.”
After approving adaptations of critically acclaimed games such as The Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima, Sony’s choice of Days Gone may appear unusual. After all, despite selling 9 million copies to date, the game is one of the company’s least well-received first-party titles in recent memory.
However, Sony has found new success since deciding to port Days Gone to PC. If you search for the game on YouTube, you’ll find a plethora of videos attempting to answer the question of whether or not you should play Days Gone in 2022.
