Summer Games Done Quick 2022, the semi-annual speedrunning event, kicks off on June 26th. SGDQ will host a non-stop livestream of skilled players tearing through a wide variety of games as quickly as they can from then until July 3rd. They’re hoping to break a few world records in the process.

The event is live on Twitch, and the stream is embedded below for your convenience. On Sunday, the pre-show begins at 12:30PM ET, followed by the first run, a Shadow of the Colossus random boss rush. If you miss anything, you can watch it later on YouTube.
Doctors Without Borders will be encouraged to accept donations from viewers. The event raised $2.9 million for the cause last year. Awesome Games Done Quick, the most recent winter edition, raised $3.4 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
SGDQ 2022 will be held in Bloomington, Minnesota, and will be the first GDQ event held in person since Awesome Games Done Quick 2020.
The full schedule has been released by GDQ, and there are a number of intriguing runs in the works. I’ve never seen a Donkey Kong Country reverse boss run before.

That, as well as the Super Mario Maker 2 relay race, is something I’m looking forward to. Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Halo Infinite, Tunic, and, of course, Elden Ring are among the games making their GDQ debuts.
