Sifu has been on our radar for a while, but it wasn’t clear when we’d be able to get our hands on the kung fu action title. Sloclap revealed the game’s release date during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event: February 22nd, 2022.

Sifu was supposed to be released this year by the Absolver studio, but it was pushed back to early 2022 to avoid overworking the team or compromising on quality.

The release date was revealed by Sloclap at the end of the latest gameplay trailer. The video shows the protagonist fighting a swarm of goons on a rooftop, an art gallery, and a firelit alleyway.

Unlike the previous trailer, this one does not highlight one of Sifu’s most intriguing mechanics: your character grows older each time they respawn after dying.

Sifu, which will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Epic Games Store, is now available for pre-order. If you pre-order the $40 standard edition now, you’ll get a special avatar pack as well as an exclusive cinematic pack for the photo mode.

If you pre-order the $50 special edition, you’ll get those bonuses, as well as a digital artbook, a soundtrack, and 48 hours of early access before the official release date.
