Fortnite and soccer are quite familiar with each other, and now it looks like the two are strengthening their relationship. According to Eurogamer, Epic Games has teased Brazilian superstar Neymar ‘s appearance in Fortnite on March 16th.
It’s not yet clear exactly how he’ll manifest in the battle royale game, but there’s little doubt that it’s the real PSG star, the number 10 jersey and Neymar’s own Twitter reaction are strong clues.
The inclusion would follow at the same time a single-player mission, Zero Crisis Finale, that’s meant to ease gamers into Chapter 2 Season 6 and reshape “Reality as we know it.” The timing is somewhat ironic for Neymar himself, though.
Neymar has been sidelined as a result of injuries for most of the past few months, and he’s not looking to return to games until later in March. It’s possible that Fortnite will be Neymar’s only competitive venue for a few days.
The Brazilian superstar and world most expensive player’s fleeting appearance might grow interest in Fortnite. It’s not immediately clear whether other current soccer legends like Ronaldo and Messi will follow suit.
He’s given everything to the Order… and for what?
