Samsung has been steadily adding to its Health app’s capabilities, but now it appears ready to take a few features out. The tech giant is notifying users (via SamMobile) that it’s removing weight, calorie (that is, food intake), and caffeine tracking from Health with updates coming to its mobile and wearable apps in July.

While the initial alert was targeted at Germany, it’s expected to reach users worldwide before long. Although the company didn’t explain why it has decided to take the action. We’re making an effort to reach Samsung for comment.

This won’t be great news if you rely on your phone or a device like the Galaxy Fit or Galaxy Watch to monitor your broader health. While there are numerous third-party apps available to track your weight and food, Health helped keep that information in one place.

You’ll now have to divide your attention between multiple apps if you want to use Health as part of a holistic approach to fitness, assuming you don’t completely replace it with one of the alternatives.
