Tumblr has started deleting all hate speech reblogs that have put people’s reputations at stake. Blogging has always been a part of “other people’s lives’’. Ideally let’s call it a personal diary to many, which lets the public eye have access to it.
But in this case, the social media platform has been abused as countless people use this app to enforce hate speech.

The company said that it is “in the midst of removing 4.47 million posts reblogging content from nearly a thousand Nazi-related blogs that had been frozen and deleted’’.
Tumblr explained why they took such measures as this has been ongoing for years on end. The outcome has been that these hate speech bloggers weren’t willing to educate but rather came across as hateful rhetoric which overshadowed positivity.
Tumblr has decided to implement a few features which will suspend all bloggers immediately once it picks up negativity, and deactivate their accounts with immediate effect as they see this as the best course of action.

However, Tumblr didn’t make this decision on its own. t consulted with other groups before making their decision.
Tumblr App won’t be the same anymore. The following statement was made by Tumblr:
“We are, and will always remain, steadfast believers in free speech. Tumblr is a place you can be yourself and express your opinions. Hate speech is not conducive to that. When hate speech goes unchecked, it eventually silences the voices that add kindness and value to our society. That’s not the kinds of Tumblr any of us want.”
